What is 40 Days?

"40 days" is a  non-denominational event whose sole purpose is to see Pensacola, Escambia County and Santa Rosa County become the region that God designed it to be. We believe that God loves this area and has a purpose for it citizens. Starting on January 10, 2010 we are calling for a 40 days of prayer and fast for this region.

Since this is a non-denominational event, every body is welcome to participate, in fact, WE NEED YOU and your church or ministry to be part of it. We are believing for an awakening of the people of God in the city of Pensacola as we lay aside our differences and interceded as ONE for our city before our God.

So I need to pray and fast for 40 days to be part of it?

Not necessarily. This is a self regulating event. You can define your own boundaries. You alone are responsible before God about your commitment. The only request that we have is that you submit the type of fast that you will be doing for our own records. Whether you can only fast one day a week for 40 days, or do a Daniel's fast for 40 days, or a total fast for 40 days, you are welcome to participate. Even if you cannot fast at all but you are committed to prayer, you can be a part of seeing Pensacola changed!

Is there any cost to be part of it?

No. This is a free event. We do not ask, collect or accept donations of any type.

I just found out about this event and the event is in progress can I still sign up to be part of it?

How my kids can be involved?

Children have the ability to understand that they can help this community also. Children can pray and fast. However a child's fast should be limited to abstaining from sweets, television or other "light" types of fasts.

Is this just for pastors or I can be part of it too?

This fast is for all believers including moms, dads, grandma and grandpa. We want to unite believers to fast for this city and for its pastors.

Do I need to go somewhere every day during 40 days?

No. This is a self regulatory fast. It is your commitment with God for the city of Pensacola.
